I was recently asked if brain aging and nutrition were somehow related. The answer is ABSOLUTELY!
Dr. Daniel Amen (the Brain Doctor) states that brain aging is for example accelerated by brain injuries, drugs and alcohol, obesity, smoking, caffeine, toxins, poor diets/high calories, stress/depression and lack of exercise. Diet has a lot to do with how fast our brain is aging, and a good diet can also reverse the effect of a previously bad diet, so nothing is lost yet if you want to change your eating habits.
