Empathy (the noun cousin to the adjective “empathic”) refers to one’s ability to identify with the feelings, thoughts, or attitudes of others. When one is empathic, she is able to resonate with (or even vicariously experience) the feelings of those around her. Therefore, this phase is a great time for connection (just make sure that you place healthy boundaries around your interactions with others)—begin a group project, schedule time to catch up with friends, offer to support a loved one or friend during a tough time, volunteer. Use this time to authentically connect with your tribe.
Another way to keep the connection flowing is through what you feed your body. Make sure that you maintain a nourishing diet. Consider boosting certain nutrients—especially zinc, and vitamins A and C. Many types of nuts—such as almonds and sunflower seeds—are rich in zinc. And dark leafy greens are a great source of vitamins A and C. So add some extra sliced almonds to your daily summer citrus salad (with kale)–yum!
And after (or before) your yummalicious salad, be sure to get in a vigorous workout. Your energy levels are quite high, during both your Dynamic and Empathic Phases, so take that high-impact spin class you’ve been wanting to try out for a while. You deserve a great workout! However, the only exception to this is if you’re trying to conceive. If this is the case, avoid excessive aerobic exercise. BUT, never avoid excessive amounts of joy! Your body is wise beyond measure. Tap into its wisdom, and connect with others from that place of deep knowing. You got this (you beautiful empath 🙂 ).
