Do you think that feeling sluggish and tired is a question of age and there is nothing you can do about it?

Do you think that coffee, sugary drinks and sugary snacks are your best friends?

If you feel that somehow there is something in your life that could be changed to make you feel better, then read further.

There are a few diets out there which advice you on what to eat and what not to eat for greater energy. From my prospective, before adding anything to your diet, it is probably best to start reviewing it first. My suggestion to you is to start by testing common food intolerance. The foods which you will have to test are:

  1. Gluten
  2. Dairy
  3. Eggs
  4. Soy
  5. Corn
  6. Peanuts
  7. Sugar and artificial sweeteners (and yes, that also means alcohols).

To test those foods, you will have to remove them completely from your diet for 3 weeks. This is the time your body will need to wake up and be detoxified. The advantages of removing those foods are namely that (1) your skin will clear, (2) you will feel more energized, and (3) your hormones will start re-balancing (which means you could well be losing a few kilos in the process. These are just a few of the advantages that you will get from a food intolerance testing.

As you can hear everywhere, drinking at least 2 liters of water a day is also very important. What is as important is to drink this water outside of meal times, as drinking water while eating impairs the digestion process.

At the end of the 3 weeks, you can start re-introducing some of the foods to test them. You should pay attention to how different foods make you feel. After you eat, do you feel tired? Energized? Heavy? Inspired? Depressed? Cold? Hot? Tuning into your body to understand how foods make you feel is very important if you want to feel better.
