An affirmation log is exactly what it sounds like; a list of affirmations you want to use, have used, or intend to use. Affirmations are statements that put into a positive mindset, whether you want to give yourself a boost of self-confidence or you are trying to change your habits.

Here are several reasons why you need an affirmation log.

#1. It Allows You to See Your Affirmations Over Time

The first thing an affirmation log does is lets you see what affirmations you have chosen to use over time, and which ones benefitted you the most.

We often see affirmations in many different places, from personal development books to listening to podcasts or watching videos. You might use one that was really effective for you, but if you don’t keep it written down somewhere important, you might never remember where you found it in the first place.

#2. You Can Make a List of Affirmations to Try Out

You can also use the list not for affirmations you have already used, but ones you have found that you want to try out.

Again, when you find a list of affirmations on a website about the law of attraction or on Pinterest, you need to save the ones you like. Instead of having to hunt through dozens of pins on Pinterest, you can write down the ones that speak to you.

#3. You Can Cross Off The Ones That Didn’t Provide Mindset Benefits

When you start off with a list of affirmations to use, and you have tried one out but didn’t notice many benefits, you can make a note or cross it off.

You know that while these affirmations may be great for other people, they didn’t really help you with what you are trying to focus more on. That’s ok! It is all part of the process of using affirmations.

No two people’s minds are the same, so no two people will benefit from all the same affirmations.

#4. It Gives You Affirmations to Choose From

Sometimes, you are in need of a mindset shift, but don’t have any of your affirmations memorised. That is the beauty of the affirmation log! Once you have a good amount of them written down, you can categorise them and then look for exactly the right one when you really need it.

Keep this log in a journal, notebook, or a binder with other important personal development things that you have been saving.
